You’re in Calgary. We’re in Edmonton. That’s 300km and about 3 hours on the QEII.
We’re not going to pretend that’s convenient.
You have lots of options in Calgary already: corporate chains with techs who got a weekend course, medical spas treating laser removal as a side hustle, clinics using outdated equipment or questionable techniques.
We’re none of those things.
We’re Edmonton-based, independently owned, and we’ve been doing this since 2016 with ongoing training from the International Laser Academy. No shareholders. No corporate scripts. Just tattoo-loving laser techs that love helping you get your best cover up tattoo.
What Makes Us Different
Years of Hands-on Experience
Madi has been operating lasers since 2016. Trained directly by Edmonton laser legend Ben Alway and certified by Lorenzo Kunze Jr of the International Laser Academy.
That’s thousands of hours of hands-on experience – learning to read subtle visual and auditory cues, knowing when to treat aggressively versus conservatively, understanding how different inks and skin types respond.
Weekend certification courses don’t cut it. This is specialized work that takes years to master.
Proper Treatment Spacing
We space sessions 12+ weeks apart minimum – often longer – because that’s what actually works.
Your body needs time to process out the shattered ink particles. Treating too soon means the laser can’t “see” properly, resulting in less effective treatments.
Some Calgary places push 4-6 week spacing to rack up appointments. That’s profitable for them, not effective for you.
Longer gaps = fewer total sessions = less driving for you = more money in your pocket for your next tattoo.
No Corporate Pressure Tactics
We don’t push complete removal packages or lock you into contracts.
We’ll be straight about what’s possible, how long it might take, and what it will cost. Sometimes that means telling you a cover-up without any laser work might be your best option.

We’re not a medical clinic that added laser removal as a side service. We’re embedded in the tattoo scene – inside Urge 2 Tattoo, working directly with artists, understanding the culture from the inside.
Most of us have tattoos from local artists. We’ve been on both sides of the laser.

How it Works
- Get Your Estimate
Text or email us a photo of your tattoo. Include something for scale, if possible: your hand, a coin, a ruler.
We’ll give you a rough estimate of cost per session and a realistic timeline. - Book Your Free Consultation
Once you’ve booked, be sure to fill out our Client Intake Form (which will be in one of the welcome emails). We can screen for most contraindications and save you the trip if we cannot do your first treatment immediately afterwards.
One trip. Consultation + first treatment. - Plan Your Sessions
With 12+ weeks between treatments (minimum), you’re not driving to Edmonton every month.
That’s 2-4 trips to Edmonton per year – manageable for most people, especially when the alternative is subpar treatment closer to home.
Fading for a Cover Up?
We can work with your tattoo artist in Calgary to target specific sections or colours that are making it difficult.
Have them send us a photo or description of what’s blocking their vision. We’ll target exactly those sections or colors, getting you back in their chair sooner.

Frequent Questions from Calgary Clients
Q: Can I do the consultation via video call to avoid the first drive?
A: Consultations work best in person so we can see your tattoo in proper lighting and measure accurately. But the good news: if you’re good to treat, we can do your first session the same day. One drive, consultation + treatment done.
Q: What if I need to cancel an appointment last minute?
A: Life happens. Just let us know ASAP. We’d rather reschedule than have you drive 3 hours when you’re not feeling it.
Q: Can I bring someone with me?
A: Absolutely. We have space for one additional person in the laser room if you want support. Road trip it.
Q: Will you work with my Calgary tattoo artist on a cover-up?
A: Yes. Have them reach out or send info through you. We collaborate all the time.
