Preparing for Your First Treatment
TLDR:Avoid sun and self-tanner for 2 weeks prior, wear comfortable clothes that give us access to the tattoo (or be comfortable stripping).
Bring your questions and medication list. Anxious? Let us know!
So you’ve booked your appointment – here’s how to prep for the best possible treatment.
Before You Arrive
Wear comfortable clothes that make it easy to access the treatment area.
Shave the area if there’s hair. If you don’t, we may need to shave you in the treatment room. We use PurKlenz to lube up the skin – we aren’t monsters.
Avoid sun exposure in the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. We won’t treat on an active tan.
Can’t commit to sunscreen or sports tape during summer? Take a break and come back in fall or winter when you’re at your fairest.
Stop using sunless tanners in the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
Let us know about any medication changes – some are a hard no with laser treatment, others just need extra care.
Removing Cosmetic Ink? There’s Extra Prep:
6-8 WEEKS BEFORE
Stop any saline removal treatments or eyebrow tinting or lamination
3 WEEKS BEFORE
Stop the use of retinols in the treatment area
1 WEEK BEFORE
Stop any botox or fillers
DAY OF
Don’t apply makeup on the treatment area (or we’ll wipe it off with isopropyl alcohol)
